**GRAPHIC PICS IN COMMENTS** Dear Long Way Home followers, Please take a minute to read this very honest post. I have chosen to post pics in comments in case you have a weak stomach. As many of you know, we are a non-profit rescue that runs entirely on donations. We are run almost exclusively by a group of women with kids, full time jobs, pets of our own, getting a graduate degree, and combinations of those things plus more. We, including our foster homes, do this for free because our hearts ache for animals. Many bigger groups have grant writers and/or professional fundraisers to run facilities and fully financed programs. We, however, are limited to the kindness and giving of our community. Because of this, we cannot take every animal, even though it hearts break for each and every one. We run on a tight budget, and do the most we can to do right by each of the few we save. But, sometimes, life just isnt that easy. Sometimes, like this week, it seems to be raining animals that we cannot turn our backs on. We take the old. The sick. The breed restricted. The abused. The injured. And this week was no exception. While focusing on covering the medical costs for the 4 flat face seniors, we have been asked to help with an injured dog. She has clearly suffered, and we may very well have been the last call. We desperately want to help this girl, but we are calling on you, Long Way Home Army. We need you more than ever. We need you to help us finish covering the current fundraiser and make pledges to help the injured yorkie. We can only save as many as we have funds, and this yorkie has an old injury that should have never gone unattended. Please consider helping us top off the current fundraiser and pledge to cover the yorkies amputation, spay, and rehab. What do you think? Can you pass around a hat at work? As your employer to make a contribution? Sponsor a profit share? Forgo that $5 coffee? Donate your cup holder change? All donations are tax deductible, but more importantly, it means we save another life.... Will you help? Hoping you can come through for us, Long Way Home Adoptables
