“GROW MORE FOOD: High Tunnel Workshop” Saturday, April 19, 2014, Deer Park, WA Classroom Session: 9:30am-12:30pm at Deer Park City Council Chambers 316 E Crawford Street Hands-on Farm Session: 1:30pm – 3:30pm at Estella Farms, 34601 N Short Rd, Deer Park, WA Presenters include: Diane Green, Greentree Naturals, Sandpoint, Idaho Jeremy Cowan, Regional Extension Horticulture Specialist WSU Steve Sprecher Natural Resource Conservation Service, Spokane, WA Join us to learn: What are high tunnels, how they work, and how to incorporate them into farm operations. High tunnel costs, model options, and sources for kits and accessories; Crop planning and management in high tunnel systems, funding options – programs and access to financing; High tunnel construction – hands-on experience (weather permitting). $25 for Tilth Producer Members; $35 for non-members. Add $5 additional after April 15th. Lunch is included. This workshop is offered in partnership with the WSU Small Farms Team and funded in part by the USDA Beginning Farmers and Ranchers Development Program.
