>>GS Police hold sixth man over dissident plot to kill loyalist Johnny Adair A sixth person has been arrested in Scotland in connection with a suspected dissident republican plot to murder an exiled loyalist terror chief.It has been reported that the target of the alleged conspiracy was former UFF boss Johnny Adair, who fled Belfast after being forced out by his former comrades in 2003. A 56-year-old man was arrested and charged under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act and alleged conspiracy to murder, Police Scotland said last night. He is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court today. Adair, who was sentenced to 16 years after becoming the first person to be convicted of directing terrorism in 1995, was the leader of the UFFs notorious C Company in the Shankill area of Belfast. The loyalist gang he led has been blamed for dozens of sectarian murders during the Troubles. Adair told the Scottish Sun he would not leave his new home, despite receiving a warning from police about his personal security. On Tuesday, five people with alleged links to dissident republicanism appeared separately in private at Glasgow Sheriff Court and were charged under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act. Anton Duffy (39), Martin Hughes (34), and Stacy McAllister (27), from Glasgow, Paul Sands (30), from Ayr, and Edward McVeigh (26), from Portpatrick, Dumfries and Galloway, were arrested on Wednesday, October 23 in the operation led by Police Scotland and involving the PSNI and MI5. All five made no plea or declaration and were remanded in custody.
