#GTPD Media Release: Woman Arrested for CDS & Distribution After Police Open Her Locked Vehicle/ Shoplifter Later Burglarizes Females Car & Arrested On Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 9:58 pm, officers responded to the K-Mart on Blackwood/Clementon Rd. for a reported shoplifter that fled the store on foot. Arriving officers flooded the area, located and apprehended the shoplifter, 29 year old Shawn Kennedy of the unit block of Lakeland Rd. in Blackwood. Mr. Kennedy was taken to police headquarters for processing of the Shoplifting complaint and for Possession of Hypodermic Needles and was released on criminal summonses pending a future court date. While processing Mr. Kennedy, officers responded to a nearby Shell gas station to assist a female who locked herself out of her car and called the police to help her regain entry. As the assisting officer successfully opened the females car he immediately detected a strong odor of raw marijuana coming from the interior. The incident resulted in the female being taken into custody for possessing several small containers of marijuana and for having three outstanding warrants for her arrest. The female was initially charged with Possession of CDS (marijuana) and Possession With Intent to Distribute CDS and released on a criminal summons, however it was later determined that she provided officers with an alias that she has used extensively in the past. Warrants for Possession of CDS, Possession With Intent to Distribute CDS and Obstruction Of Justice were reissued to the female, Sabrina Torres age 21 of the 300 block of Carman Street in Camden. Torress bail was set at $1,500.00 full cash and she is actively being sought by police at this time. While Ms. Torres was being processed, a patrol officer observed Mr. Kennedy near her parked vehicle. The investigation revealed that Mr. Kennedy forced entry into Ms. Torres vehicle. Shawn Kennedy was, again, taken into custody and charged with Burglary, Theft and Criminal Mischief for returning to the Shell gas station and breaking into Ms. Torress parked vehicle. Mr. Kennedy was processed on these additional charges and remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility in lieu of posting $10,000.00 10% cash bail. Arrested: Sabrina Torres 21 year old female from the 3000 block of Carman Street in Camden, NJ.
