~ Galle Town - Bo Tree ~ These statues are situated in West side of the Galle Bus Halt. One day these statues will made history. 3/4 of the large statue and the whole small statue were drowned by the Tsunami disaster in 2004. When those high strengthen rails, which cannot even move by several people were swept away by the Tsunami, these two statues which made form cement and clay, including those four other Buddha statues in The City Of Galle were protected. The glass cover which is in the main Shrine was put after the Tsunami incident. Even single Buddha Statue in Sri Lanka was not destroyed from the Tsunami Wave.
