Gambian immigrants in Libya are jubilating over the arrest of Saikou Camara by the NIA. One of them told What’s On-Gambia ; ”He is an agent, who ran to Gambia with more than ten million dalasi. He was taking GMD 36,000 to smuggle each person from Tripoli to the Italian border.” Camara is well-known among Gambian immigrants, who travelled to Europe through the ‘back way.’ Many of our young people are still flocking into Libya in order to cross over to Italy although many have died in the Libyan coast in the past.
