#Gaza: 2,139 people, most of them civilians, including more than 490 children have been killed. #Israel: 64 soldiers and six civilians have died. Both sides declared victory. It took me a day to marinate in it, to try to understand why they both consider what happened a victory. Its not a victory for me. But I wasnt bombed, which is not to say I wasnt shell shocked, nor unscathed. For 50 days I lived with the awareness of all the pain and suffering in Gaza. For 50 days I couldnt think of much else. I watched in agony as my government sent the murderers more arms and ammunition, even as they were mowing down women and children. Ive never felt so helpless and unrepresented in my entire life! What now? I dont feel like celebrating. How long before Israel invades and kills again? No! I cant forgive and I cant forget! OUR fight has just started! My Dollars are NOT going to Israel! Not my tax dollars, not my consumer dollars. Any politician who votes to send our tax dollars to Israel needs to be replaced (97 of our Senators!!!) All dual Israeli Citizens need to be thrown out of Congress; I dont believe you can serve two masters. No more all expenses paid trips to Israel for all the freshmen Congressmen! Enough! Israel needs to be brought in front of the International Court and prosecuted for its war crimes. The Illegal Occupation of Palestine needs to come to an end. We cant trust our politicians to do it; this is a job for us, the People...
