*** Genesis Champions Cup 2K14 - Ayub Park *** Semi Final: Red Devils 3 (4) - (2) 3 Garrison F.C Devils come back from two goals down in the second half to set up a penalty shoot out win amid organizing controversies that marred a wonderful match of football. Initially set up as a three way Semi Final, Devils were informed before the kick off by the management that the game would be treated as a two way Semi Final as GC United had backed out. Garrison F.C, however, were not informed of the decision which resulted in controversy at the final whistle. AD started in the goal with Muawia and Sameer in defence. Faizan Janu started in the holding role with Musab, Zaki and Harris further up the field. Ahmed Saeed Butt, Ammar, Mani and Omer Mashood formed the substitute bench. Devils got off to the worst possible start as the tournaments top goal getter, Hassam Ali aka Mamu, scored twice with the majestic left foot of his in the opening ten minutes of the game. Devils soon cut the lead by half, as Musab played Harris through on goal, Harris making no mistake in dispatching the ball past the advancing Raja Sohaib. The comeback was short lived though as Mamu scored another brilliant goal to complete a well deserved first half hattrick. Just before the half time whistle, Devils earned a penalty after a foul in the box. Raja Sohaib, however, came up with a scintillating save to deny an audacious chip by Harris Qamar. With Devils needing two goals in the second half to stay in the tournament, Ahmed Saeed Butt and Ammar were introduced to make it 3 strikers up top. The gamble seemed to pay off though as Devils finally started to play penetrating football. Devils scored their second when Harris Qamar back heeled a goal bound effort by Ahmed Saeed Butt into the back of the net. The boys in red continued to attack in search of the equalizer as Ammar saw his effort from outside the box hit the upright. Harris Qamar then set up Ammar with a spectacular curling cross, however the captain was unable to put away the chance. The equalizer finally did come with 5 minutes left on the clock, as Ammar finally found the back of the net with a brilliant left footed strike. The game finished at 3-3 and following the controversy the game went to penalty shoot out to decide the finalist. Abdullah Hamid and Sherry converted for Garrison while Mamu was denied by AD and Shayan unluckily hit the post. Devils on the other end converted all four of their penalties as Faizan Sameer Janu, Ahmed Saeed Butt, Zaki Ahmed and Harris Qamar found the back of the net. Very well played Garrison boys, extremely unlucky to go out of the tournament under such circumstances. However, trophies or no trophies you are easily the most awesome football team in the twin cities. Man of the Match: Harris Qamar
