Genevieve “Gib” Estep Fraley, 84, of Morehead, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2014 in the St. Claire Regional Medical Center. She was born on October 31, 1929 in Fleming County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Odell and Thelma Christine Waltz Estep. Mrs. Fraley was retired from the Rowan County School System, where she was a cook at Tilden Hogge Elementary School for 27 years. She was a member of Johnson First Church of God and was a true homemaker and great cook. She enjoyed taking care of her flowers, raising a garden and spending time with her family. However, her greatest joy was being a grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Lee Fraley, who passed away on June 22, 1974, one grandson, Brian Lee Fraley, who passed away on December 1, 1983, two brothers, Odell Estep, Jr. and Paul Estep and three sisters, Norma Emmojean Estep, Naomi Bradley and Virginia Hicks. Survivors include her husband of over 65 years, Joe Fraley, whom she married on December 14, 1948, one son, Vaughn (Rita) Fraley of Morehead, one daughter, Charlotte (Steve) Bumgardner of Morehead, one brother, Willie Estep of Muncie, Indiana, three sisters, Geraldine Cox of Morehead, Mary Jo McClure of Erlanger and LaDonna Jordan of Flemingsburg, three grandchildren, Brad Fraley of Morehead, Jim Andy Bumgardner of Catlettsburg and Holley Jo (Rob) Nester of Kingsport, Tennessee, three great-grandchildren, Brock Nester, Kyla Bumgardner and Kenna-Grace Bumgardner and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 9, 2014 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Hatfield and Rev. Mike Pennington officiating. Burial was in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation was from 4:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers were Roger Estep, Vernon Estep, Brad Fraley, Jim Andy Bumgardner, Rob Nester and Dale Estep. Honorary pallbearers were Greg Gilliam, Arthur Lawhorn, Howard Helterbrand, George Helterbrand, Norton Musgrave, Ott Stacy, Dallas Fraley, Denzil Fraley, Bernie Howell, Harold Fraley, Milton Hamilton, Randy Bradley and Billy Plank.
