If you see them in the halls or your classes, please welcome them to IHS. · Any student that is interested in dance, cheer, flag, or majorettes, there is a meeting today after school from 3:45 - 4:45 to meet with the new coach in the auditorium. If a student needs a bus token to get home after the meeting, we will have some. · The after school Arabic Class starts today at 4:30 in the library ....Get ready to start learning a new language. · Chess club will meet today from 3:45 to 4:45. All interested in chess are welcome. · Anyone who would like to make a donation for the Syrian refugees, please bring your donations to the front office. · Attention to all seniors: if you want to rep the class of 2014, submit your design for a t-shirt by October 18nd to Ms. Bunn or any member of the Senior Board (Anastasia, Alan, Daniella, Josh, Lara, Milan, or Tamiera). We recommend that the designs be submitted in a digital format. · AMAZING OPPORTUNITY: TEDYouth 2013, themed "The Spark," is moving south this year! It’s happening Saturday, November 16, 2013, at the Civic Theatre in New Orleans, Louisiana just blocks away from IHS. At TEDYouth, more than 20 scientists, designers, technologists, explorers, artists, performers (and more!) will share short lessons on what they do best. They’ll dazzle us with mind-shifting stories, inspire us with creativity and make us want to dive even deeper into a broad array of topics. The program is made up of three sessions, plus a lunch break with engaging activities, demos, and a chance to meet the speakers. Attendance is free of charge for 400 middle and high school students from the New Orleans area. Students, you have four days to catch up on any missed work. Take advantage of the time to get yourself in good shape in your classes. Seniors, take the time to get your applications in order and get your application essay in good shape. Teachers, please make sure you view Mr. Amato’s email so you can have conversations with students missing work and what they need to do to make it up. We’ll see you back at school Tuesday morning.
