***** Govan Law Centre Client Update***** Our client presented to us with multiple issues surrounding her ability to cope with the tenancy she was in. Her social landlord had been threatening eviction and our client was understandably scared about. We were able to contact her landlord and advise them that we would now be supporting our client. We advised that their practices up until this point were not conducive as to how a social landlord should be acting with someone as vulnerable as our client. We supported our client to the meeting and the threat of eviction was no longer being discussed and a mutual agreement was reached between our client and their landlord. We were also able to link in with another agency in order to give our client some on-going support during a stressful period. For this client we were able to challenge how the landlord was engaging with their vulnearble tenant and we were also able to remove the threat of eviction which was sitting over this tenant. Perhaps most crucially we were able to find a way for the tenant and landlord to reach a position where they were both happy with the plan going forward.
