....Govt formation: PDP confirms ‘track two’ talks with BJP in progress Admitting for the first time that their track-II talks with BJP were in progress, PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on Saturday said that he was not interested in becoming chief minister of the state, but wanted to clear the bad name brought by militants to the people of Kashmir. “I do not know who these militants/terrorists are and from where they gave cone to Kashmir. Now they have taken into their grip Pakistan as well,” he said, adding that “what they are doing is not Islam”. Referring to Kashmiris being looked upon with suspicion by people elsewhere the country, Mufti said that he wanted to remove the blot brought on the stare by these militants. “For this, we will be ready to go with the (BJP),” he told party workers here this afternoon. However, in the same breath, he also made it clear that PDP will not sell the faith reposed in it by people of Kashmir during the assembly elections. “Our Track II talks are on with the BJP and if successful, both sides will formulate a common minimum programme for the government to follow during next six years,” he said. “A structured dialogue between them will follow only thereafter,” he said, adding that it will be followed by attempts on government formation. Describing the assembly polls verdict as an opportunity for both the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to solve the vexed Kashmir problem, the PDP Patron said that his party wanted repeal of AFSPA in view of prevailing peace in Jammu Kashmir. Pointing out that state police and para-military forces were there to deal with any law and order situation, he said that AFSPA was bringing bad name to the country. Pointing out that no outsider can create trouble unless there is fodder available internally, he pointed out. Only on Friday, Minister of State in the PMO Dr Jitendra Singh had confirmed that some authorized party leaders were holding talks with PDP over government formation in Jammu Kashmir, which has been reeling hunger Governor rule for the last fortnight. Meanwhile, sources said that the talks between both the parties were progressing well.
