Greetings, As you may know, Kentucky is expanding the population eligible for Medicaid effective January 1, 2014, as authorized through the Affordable Care Act (ACA). We are also revising our benefit package in the areas of substance use disorders and mental health services to comply with ACA requirements. Below is a list of new provider types the Department for Medicaid Services (DMS) anticipates enrolling effective 1/1/2014. Please note that the new provider types are subject to change pending Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) approval and the finalizing of regulations and enrollment requirements for each provider type. DMS is now accepting enrollment applications for these new provider types. Although enrollment requirements are still being determined, each entity/individual must be licensed and submit their NPI documentation as well as social security number or Federal Employer Identification Number verification. Applications will be held and processed once CMS approval is received and the regulations and enrollment requirements are finalized. New Provider Types Private Duty Nursing Agency Speech Language Pathologist Speech Language Pathologist Group Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor Group Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Group Licensed Psychological Practitioner Licensed Psychological Practitioner Group Behavioral Health Multi-Specialty Group The following provider types will no longer be limited to only being reimbursable as a Qualified Medicare Beneficiary (QMB). Providers currently enrolled in these provider types may begin providing services to the entire Medicaid population effective 1/1/2014, subject to change as stated above. Licensed Clinical Social Worker Licensed Clinical Social Worker Group Physical Therapist Physical Therapist Group Occupational Therapist Occupational Therapist Group Licensed Psychologist Licensed Psychologist Group For more information on the requirements to enroll as a Medicaid provider, please visit chfs.ky.gov/dms/provEnr/. If a provider plans to serve Medicaid members who are enrolled in the managed care environment, the website also provides information about contracting with one or more of the Managed Care Organizations (MCOs). As with the current provider enrollment process, if a provider is not enrolled in Medicaid and is contracting with one or more of the MCOs, the provider is required to submit the Medicaid enrollment application to one of the MCOs for processing. The website will be updated as new information becomes available. In addition, on the main page of the provider enrollment website providers may subscribe to a listserve to receive emails with information on participation as a Medicaid provider. If you have specific questions about provider enrollment, please contact the Provider Licensing and Certification Branch in the Division of Program Integrity at 1-877-838-5085 or [email protected].
