* Ground-Hog Dog...Jack Russell Day!!! * Remember were riding horses to raise money...hint hint Yes folks, I missed a post yesterday due to sheer fed-upness. There, now you know. So after more cold nights, camp fire-smoke in my eyes, more red dust than is bearable and filthy clothes weve managed to push things along and found another day to spend in Mitchell. Whilst the horses and dogs get a rest, work continues for the team however, so while we refer to it as a rest day...believe me, its anything but!! Shopping, laundry, cowgirl housework.... One of yesterdays irritants was the long drawn-out Muranoa Councils bureaucracy decision-making process regarding us accessing free services from the Mitchell Showground. After several hours waiting around we were given the go-ahead to stay at their very barren, dusty and unloved showground. We finally decided wed rather be without showers/toilet and running water and ended up at the Neil Turner Weir with all the grey nomads. So what does that tell you Mitchell Council?? Thank you to ALL the other councils along our route who have supported us on our fundraising 100 day ride!! Hmmph...right, that feels better getting that off my chest. On a cheerier note we wanted to share with you the Jack Russells weve encountered. We were delighted to meet Penny, (little, white rough coat) who is a healthy little 16 yo character as you can see. Then Bella practically sitting on Andrews ear with an insane grin on her face, simply a nut-case dog, but so loveable. Finally our little darling Princess Snap posing in her Hills Pet Nutrition evening jacket. She sneakily jumped up on to the van seat when she thought we werent looking. I think she beat me to it actually. It was one of those days! Off to the Hotel Richards in Mitchell tonight who are holding a fundraiser in the pub for us. Do join us if you happen to live in Mitchell or camping here. Remember, even a $5.00 donation online can be made: my.leukaemiafoundation.org.au/longride4life
