【HAMEG】 An era is coming to an end We recently announced that we will soon cease production of our last analog oscilloscope. To most of you this step may come as no surprise: In recent years the market has shifted almost entirely towards digital scope technology. And for years now, we have been focusing completely on the development of DSOs and MSOs (we even won awards for the HM1024 and the HM3524). What must have come as a surprise was the reason we had for our decision: The great popularity of our last analog scope. So Germany’s ”Elektronik” magazine had the following questions for us. Why do you intend to cease production of such a popular product? For some time now, we’ve increasingly had issues with the supply of cathode ray tubes. Just as in traditional television sets, these are the key component of analog oscilloscopes. Most manufacturers of these tubes have since withdrawn from the business. The difficulties in finding suppliers of this component are just one of our challenges.
