**HEALTH HACK** - Do not fall for the dogmatic approach to nutrition The next time somebody approaches you announcing that they have found the way! to eat, based on their logic, ancient wisdom, the latest science blah blah blah and youve absolutely GOT to forget what you know and adopt this new set of [instinct shackling] rules, simply smile, nod, and back away slowly while being respectful of the synthetic dietary enclosure this person has chosen for themselves. Personally, I dont like enclosures, I like to be free (to be me). Sure, these diets that emerge from the scientific, logical and ancient wisdom based distinctions are useful and are FULL of amazing information and insights that give us further options in the creation of our diet, but they will always simply be the scaffolding that holds us up in the transition to awakening/remembering our innate ability to tune into our own body and create the perfect diet for ourselves. I mean, lets just look at some of the variables that will be involved in influencing what will be appropriate for you and your diet: -unique metabolism -preferences -emotional status -one of a kind ancestral DNA -unique cellular structure -heritage -upbringing -bodily constitution -aspirations -relationship to body -and on and on the list goes You are so unbelievably unique and one of a kind that it is detached from reality to think that anyone outside of the person who, I dont know... lives in your body 24/7, has any kind of right to dictate what it is you must eat if you wish to be healthy, no matter how much reductionist science they have behind them (I.e. veganism, paleo, raw till 4, macro, the Ayurvedic diet, gluten free etc.). As I said, these diets can be very handy as bridges and scaffolding to reawaken your ability to instinctively know what it is that your body needs (and trust those instincts!), but they, in my opinion, are not to be blindly adopted in place of taking the responsibility of acknowledging that we create our own diet, only we have the ability to discover our true potential through diet, and therefore are in full control of our health. Awaken those instincts and have fun jumping in the drivers seat of the creation of your personal diet. -Mason
