*********HIDS********** Theres a lot of confusion about it and i keep having arguments with too many people about it. In the guidelines it says you **MAY** have self levelling and/or headlight washers, it does not say you need them. You must have projector style headlights. You can have any temperature up to and including 6000k, however, you may get away with 8000k but thats down to the testers discretion. You can also have up to 55w. Some companies sell 75w claiming they are legal. They are NOT. Most mot testers dont understand the rules properly. If your car fails an mot on hids but it meets the correct criteria, call vosa, they can verify this. To summarise, here is the correct criteria: Projector headlights No more than 6000k No more than 55w You do not need self levelling headlights or headlight washers UNLESS your car was made in 2010 onwards I hope this clears everything up.
