"HIS divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness, through our knowledge of Him" ( 2 Pe 1:2-3) Sadly, many a sincere believer misses the word "EVERYTHING". They interpret to in reality mean "SOME" things because the MOST IMPORTANT "thing" NEEDED for "LIFE" - eternal, spiritual life (as well as the pursuit of godliness) is FAITH in Jesus Christ. To believe in WHO He is, WHAT He did, WHY it was/is eternally important and needed, takes UNDERSTANDING - One cannot truly accept with their HEART (" it is with the heart man believes"), that which is truly considered "foolishness" ("For the preaching if the cross is to those who perish foolishness"). To believe WITH the heart, requires the ability to UNDERSTAND the message. Jesus said only SOME " hear AND understand", whereas most do not. ( Matt 13:19/23). From WHENCE does the essential ability to UNDERSTAND Jesus truth come from? ( And He said " MY sheep KNOW MY voice... They will NOT follow a stranger ". SO WHY DO WE WHO BELIEVE, DO SO? BECAUSE HIS divine power has given us EVERYTHING we need FOR life :)
