“Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They - TopicsExpress

“Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” - Steve Jobs. I thought this may be an appropriate quote to welcome in the new year as I sit here late in the evening on this first day of 2015 on my old apple mac counting down just how many days until the fair and writing a post for Facebook (so I have embraced technology a little). The Lost Trades Fair has consumed much of my life and my time of late and will do so right up until the gates open in 61 days. The fair will celebrate those that have followed their heart and intuition - just as tech visionary Steve Jobs so aptly put it. Our hope is to inspire you all and show you what following a passion can produce. People are amazing and what they can create is truly inspiring. Tradition and the passing on of knowledge to the next generation is something very worthwhile. We have over 70 artisans, makers, trades and masters of their trades at the fair for you to meet. talk to watch and learn from. We will continue to profile our makers including, blacksmiths, toolmakers, armorers, boat & kayak builders, knife makers, decorative painters, musical instrument makers, lead lighters, fletchers, basket makers, farriers and more - there are a few images attached of makers to come... We will also include in our posts the wonderful food providers that will be at the fair, the musical entertainment, games and activities (pony rides, barrel races, sack races and egg & spoon races, coconut shy, quoits and horse shoes - no jumping castles, just good old fashioned fun!) With the fantastic response to these posts and maybe the media jumping on board, early ticket sales have exceeded expectation. We encourage everyone to book online, there is a limited capacity at the venue and as such, we cannot guarantee that tickets will be available on both days at the gate. We know already that people are travelling from near and far (with bookings from NT, WA and TAS) to attend the fair which is fabulous. Ticket will be be available online until sold out or until the 28 February. See you in nine and half weeks.
