“He added the proposed dialogue not only came at a wrong time - TopicsExpress

“He added the proposed dialogue not only came at a wrong time but was capable of breaking up the country.” One thing I have learnt in life is that we bring our fears whether real or imagine upon ourselves. It is called self fulfilling prophesy. If the likes of Kwakwanso and his cohorts bring their morbid fear of disintegration of Nigeria to pass by their ill motivated utterances and behavior, they should not blame anyone for the consequences of their action. It is said that, whom the gods want to kill is first made mad. And I think Kwakwanso and co. have gone mad. They should realize that, those who make peaceful change impossible, makes violent change inevitable. One thing these people fail to realize is that children born after the civil war are in their forties now, and have no baggage or fear of history as a handicap. In fact they have resolved to take their destiny in their hands. And will not allow what held their fathers back to hold them back. If the likes of Kwakwanso and his ilk thinks that present day Nigeria is the same as Nigeria of 70s and 80s, they better think again. The size of Nigeria is an advantage and I believe that we should remain as a country, but if remaining as a country is tantamount to sustaining the present unjust system, that unity is not worth it. The minimum irreducible condition for the continued corporate existence of Nigeria is regional arrangement. Period. Anyone fooling himself that he has the number or power to keep other parts of Nigeria in perpetual subjugation will soon be disappointed. It is universally accepted that dialogue is key to peaceful coexistence and here we people who constantly popes this universally accepted principle. What an irony. These people should better wake up to reality before it is too late. A word is enough for the wise.
