“He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not” Isaiah 53:3. When Jesus came on earth his heavenly form was hid from us. He was despised and men regarded him not despite the miracles he performed and the love he had. He was reduced to a man of flesh and his being God was not anything to be esteemed, yet in him was the salvation of all men. He came on this earth in a humble manner. Her mother (Mary) travelled in humility from Nazareth of Galilee to Bethlehem of Judea when he was about to be born (a woman once became pregnant would understand). No hospital or clinic was ready to receive him during his birth, beside a home of animals (a stable). “She gave birth to her first child, a son. She wrapped him snugly in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no lodging available for them” Luke 2:7. He had no place on the earth, for his destiny was not rosy. He came on a donkey and was born in a house of horses and was honoured by three kings from the East. “Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? For we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him” Matthew 2:1-2. When he was about to die for the sins he did not commit, he entered Jerusalem riding on a donkey, which he rod when king David rode entering Jerusalem for the first time as king. For David was signifying the manner of a King Jesus would be. As we speak today Jesus has not yet come back, and he is still coming in the same hidden form to many. He is using vessels which are not very much acceptable. He is still disguised until he reveals himself to you. “And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs. … And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them. But their eyes were holden that they should not know him. …. And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them. And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight. And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?” Luke 24:13-16, 30-32. This is scary. We need grace to notice him. Our hearts should burn in his presence. My friend it is God only who can open our eyes for you to notice messengers from Christ. Pray that you may find grace in the sight of God to receive the Messiah. You might be part of the religion and not part of the body of Christ. Your eyes must be opened.
