*Heres To The Outliers* Whether you labelled me as ADD, an entrepreneur, or having a unique learning style, I didn’t fit the mould in school. I felt chronically under stimulated and I wanted to learn at a different pace than my classmates. And because of this, I thought I was stupid. The modern school system is made to accommodate the middle 80% that learn in a normal way. Every report card I received contained the words He would do so much better if he just applied himself.” But I didn’t want to apply myself. The system was broken and I knew it. I didn’t want to win at a game that I didn’t agree with. So what did I do? I took short cuts. I half-assed everything. I put in as little effort as possible so I could free up as much of my mental resources to focus on the one thing that I cared about… women. I always had a girlfriend in high school because women were my education. Little did I know they would also become my career path… (but I had a hunch). The majority of the brilliant entrepreneurs that I work with on a weekly basis felt the exact same way. They dropped out of college, or high school, because they thought they were stupid. They ‘failed’ tests, exams, and classes because they didn’t fit the modern mould of academia. Well, a cheetah isn’t a very good swimmer compared to most schools of fish. And that’s just how some people are built. In my opinion, your real education starts when you leave formal education. You start gaining wisdom through experience. You start self-educating at a more rapid pace. You start living life on purpose. Three cheers for the outliers.
