-Historical social patterns demonstrate that some people will band together in large groups to create systems of mutual aid to help ensure self-preservation en masse and to help enable procreation (that is, some people will create human society and flourish in it) while some individuals and small groups will seek to live outside of larger civilizations and be as self-sufficient and independent as possible, forming micro-societies, sensing the dangers of larger civilized societies and their tendency to create inequalities and unjust authorities. These are divergent but ultimately rational responses to the hardships of human life. However, as a civilization grows larger, individualists and subgroups absorbed into it will suffer at the hands of the controlling authoritative majority (in a democratic society) or at the hands of a controlling minority authority or individual authority (in an undemocratic society). Scientific and industrial advancements (along with the occasional social advancement) have expanded human civilization to near-worldwide proportions, and the society of such a aggressively expansionist civilization implicitly demands that the culture of individualists and separatists be absorbed and assimilated into the inflated social monoculture or be destroyed. Civilization demands conformity or destruction when the laws of that civilization’s social morality are based on the ‘divine’ laws of monotheists, as followers of God have demonstrated that those who do not conform to ‘divine’ will are to be made to suffer. As monotheist civilization grows, the natural world is diminished, and with it the natural freedoms of life on Earth. There is no ‘divinity’ from which to fall from grace- the only grace humans have fallen from is that of ecosystemic sustainability.
