“Holy Joe” How is that Cup of Joe? Hope the coffee is good - TopicsExpress

“Holy Joe” How is that Cup of Joe? Hope the coffee is good to the last drop? “Holy Joe” is not the most attractive phrase to call someone, but it is a way to know how others may be alienated in and out of the church for their desire to seek sincere FAITH. I would disagree you have to be qualified or an expert to seek truth or share them with others. However, there also has to be honesty of the person with himself, who is sharing to others. Spiritual endeavors can be done as a hobby and it is not just for religious people, priests, or even pastors in their vocation. The Holy Joe, average person, layman, or the person, who is sipping on his cup of Joe, should be given every opportunity to decide between what is truth and fiction. Otherwise simple minded people, will be deceived, and deceiving others. Why does this matter, that the average person needs to decide what is truth and what is fiction? There is a dilemma, that truth is spoken as fiction, and fiction spoken as truth. For example, let us apply Dr. John Lennox reasoning, with Peter’s conversation with Jesus at the sea. “I will let the nets down, only because you say so.” Is the encounter really about Peter letting the nets down to go fishing with Jesus? Or is there figurative language or symbolism of Peter letting his guard down and sharing to Jesus, “Do not look at me Lord, for I am a sinner!” I do hope your “Cup of joe” was good to the last drop! I also hope this message was good as well to the very end, in which we need to understand scripture to reflect and understand Jesus on a deeper level.
