**How Ignorant have my friends become?!**Have we become a society in which points the finger towards the grave with opinions that get formed (at best) the night before the opinion is shared? Suggesting that suicide is a selfish act that suggest the person who took his/her life did so in vengeance of selfishness is an opinion that is heartless and substance-less at best. Depression isnt a moments act that revels to the world the struggle that ends in suicide. Come on now! I guarantee some of the most influential and greatest people in your life who may have always been there for you when you needed someone the most is or have in fact been suffering from this hard to explain imbalance. Although, I probably might just be the most extroverted , down to earth , happy go lucky guy who tends to receive and greet everyone with love and a smile, I in fact have and will always suffer from this imbalance. Just like Robin Williams, myself and everyone who I know who suffers from the same battle, we tend to put our struggles that we battle with daily and eternally aside to gladly put your issues ahead of our pain. Interesting enough, were the same people that are always readily available to lend you an ear when everyone else is busy. In fact, at times, you call us the strong ones in our circle of friends. In conclusion, the next time you call someone whose been suffering from depression and has taken their life , selfish, stupid, and or greedy, please do so with a mirror in front of your face reflecting the true definition of the person who defines those words so perfectly. For those who I have shared my battle with privately in trust for almost 15 years, THANK YOU for keeping my battle between us, however, there comes a point in time when someone needs to stand up to ignorance and hopefully change the views of those who simply dont mean to say the things in which they say. And For those who have just found this revelation shocking, I hope my character and the life I have lead and who Ive been to you has dramatically changed your view on the name calling that was at one point an opinion as and with all do respect, A friend will never call another any of those names regardless of how our life may end. In conclusion, please live your lives speaking truth and words of inspiration to your fellow man. Learn to speak words of empathy, compassion and forgiveness instead of sharing opinions filled with hate, division and or blindness for even those who are dumb, death, and blind will not pass such harsh judgment. Finally, I am not proud to suffer from depression but I am proud to have done what Ive done with my life while living with depression. I have a tribe of wonderful people around me like my two older brothers, my sister in law, My amazing sister , my mother and friends who have always met me in the middle and walked with me during my journey. Regardless if they never become what they wanted to become in life as professionals , they will always be superstar people , hall of famers of support to me. I only hope that one day, you can be of such appreciation to someone else before your life ends perfectly and just as you planned it should be.
