“How to improve vocabulary?” Tips and Tricks By reading the name of the topic, a question will be created in your mind directly. Question: What is the permanent and a good method of increasing my vocabulary? Answer: The same method which you have used in early childhood when you were younger. What was that method which you have used in your early childhood? 1. You listened 2. You practised 3. You made errors and corrected them You were highly motivated, you had zeal, you were the eager, and you had a genuine need to know, for without words you could not communicate and that’s why you were fighting for new words and phrases and you used to use them again and again. Tip 1: You should be motivated; you should have zeal as you had in your childhood. Tip 2: You ought to study different kinds of newspapers and when you come by a new word just look at, memorize it, look at the usage of the word in the sentence then think and ask yourself a question. Is it a noun or verb? Adjective or adverb? etc. Does this word have synonyms? If you have the synonyms of this word just pen down it because next time maybe you will come by its synonym because news writers or editors use different synonyms of a word to make n0ewspaper attractive. Tip 3. If you have learned new words, don’t say “Now I know these words”. You must practise, use them in your own sentences, use in your essays, letters, text messages etc. Teach them to your friends, your family etc. Tip 4. Make errors and correct them, no one is perfect and true learning results from trial and errors. Errors are the small ways which tell you how to turn in smooth way. If we see dust and dirt in our room then what we do? We clean them by brooming in the same when you make errors then you will see them and you will correct them. If you can’t see your errors how will you correct them. By practising you will meet your errors and you will correct them. Tip 5: Whenever you get free think of those new words which you have learnt and make sentences using those new words. Then write sentences on a short piece of paper and put this paper in your pocket. If you come by a new word in your school, office etc, you directly make a new sentence a on this word too with revising your page words.
