" I See The Poetry" You are well educated. Private schools and the many books Your mind moves easily Along the roads of advanced thought. In your eyes, deep awareness & high dreams. This, I admire about you. This and your great gentleness impress me. Ah, but I have seen you kneel down To drink from a crystal, flowing stream; Your back curving gracefully like a dancer As your thirsting lips touched the ripples! I was swept away in visions of beauty! All caused by you! All filled with you! Though a mind such as yours Much deserves my praise and rapt attention; A poem of mere intellectual appreciation Would seem sterile and in fact an insult! Beside the transcendental wonder of your form! I am the poor, would-be poet And I see poetry in your supple back, Your questing lips and tasseled hair As it dips into the water......
