“I became concerned about what was going on in my lungs,” Howart recalled. “I had no coughing, no pain. I went to a pulmonary specialist at Penn and had anoher CAT scan of my entire chest area. That’s when the tumors in my right lung were discovered and within one day after that my surgery was scheduled for July 29.” When Singhal asked Howat if she wanted to participate in the clinical trial using infrared imaging, she didn’t hesitate. “I said ‘yes,absolutely,’” she recalled.
