" I believe in independence, not because of Salmond or the SNP, not because I hate the English but because I believe in the people who choose to live here…. Who choose to make this country their home. I trust in their ability to hold a Scottish government to account for creating a fair, just and transparent parliament. One that can be an example. I believe in their ingenuity, in their stoic determination and their sense of right and wrong and I believe that they are the ones most equipped to decide Scotland’s future. There can be no denying that Scotland is a very different country, culturally and politically, from England, there can be little doubt that devolution has ultimately been an incredibly positive force for Scotland. We do not lack the capability for independence, we just lack the aspiration… If we don’t vote for this, then we simply don’t deserve it. There are many who may disagree. So disagree… Lets hear you… Lets do what Scots are often known best for and talk about this… Or as Lulu would say “shout” about it. Lets actually show some passion instead of just feeling nostalgic about it.
