I couldnt sleep last night, so I decided to lie down and listen to this debate between John Yoo and Jonathan Turley, both professors of law in our best universities. In the audience were fresh-faced college kids and elderly people who came to listen to this Constitution Day discussion. I thought it would be boring, and that I would doze off before it was over but the opposite was true. Clearly, Yoo has a complete disregard for our Constitution and is fully in favor of Obama declaring war without Congress and he says so openly, teaches it to tomorrows leaders. You only have to listen to him for about 5 minutes to figure out that he is demented and learned nothing from backing Bush with the torture memos. You can skip forward to 28 min. and 18 sec after you listen to Yoo for a few minutes. Yoo is pro-war and a fascist from the core outward, and it is REALLY sickening to see how polished he is at presenting his far-right beliefs to these students. You will be equally as floored with the integrity of the mess we have allowed in Washington D.C. presented by Prof. Turley, George Washington University. He is so disgusted as Yoo speaks that he can barely contain himself, and so was I. It is very clear that we must rail against this torturer Yoo having an honorary chair at one of our nations finest universities for OBVIOUS reasons. Needless to say, I was fully awake after watching this debate between two men who clearly loathe one another (without cursing or yelling), realizing that Yoo has been teaching such unpatriotic garbage to law students for twenty years. This is what the right turns out, people who are so opposite of what our framers intended that they could never lead us to anything but more war and more prisons. I sense that Yoo has political ambitions (horrors) and he must be stopped from climbing any higher. Turley says very clearly that Obama is operating with the very same unconstitutional war practices that he inherited from the Bush administration. He calls our problem a breach of faith and that is the best description of it so far. Weve been lied to so many times that we are numb. A must see debate to share. youtu.be/CQ_sKzNDyJ0 The proper response is not to cry and be fearful that this mentality has seized our government with the full cooperation of too many voters, but to vow to prevent Dr. Yoo types from advancing to public office or in his case, to department heads at Universities. Dr. Yoo, rhymes with Dr. Who, and he is shameless with what he is presenting to our kids. Turleys attacks on Obamas breach of power calling for the building of third parties is entirely appropriate and courageous. Professor Turley kicks Yoos rump, but do all of the 20 year olds get it? In his classrooms, no one is there to call him on dangerous misrepresentations. ASK your friends to sign this petition to get Yoo out of his chair at Berkeley and to GET TEN OTHERS TO SIGN IT. Most people are signing but they arent personally asking at least ten others to do so. Do you like torture? Just posting it on your page is not enough since FB doesnt go very far anymore. This is a small action that gives the Berkeley Law Students and National Lawyers Guild trying to get Yoo out some ammo. They certainly see the damage that he is doing in promoting his Bush-like agenda. Do you see through him now that youve heard him speak. If you dont understand the big words, just listen to his tone, watch his body language, particularly when the camera goes to him rubbing his head with Prof. Turley is speaking, and you will witness in Yoo a twisted individual who needs to be removed, or at the very least, not rewarded with an honorary chair. How can his education be so bad that he doesnt understand the basics of the Constitution and yet he is teaching it. From what rock did he crawl out from under? SNAKE.I dont see one ounce of compassion in his character. No wonder the people in the Muddle East are lopping off the heads of journalists after what weve allowed our torture crowd to do in the world. Yoo has no regrets for his torture memos.
