.I found a recipe to use for some of the ground beef I bought on sale. My hubby, a Navy Vet, suggested this, as this was sometimes served on the ship. (I am ma...king them to stock my freezer, so if you are going to cook right away, there is no need to freeze.) Mock Filet Mignon 1 1/2 lbs. lean ground beef 2 cups cooked rice 1 c. minced onion 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 1 1/2 teaspoons salt 1/4 teaspoon pepper 6 slices of bacon 1. Combine all but bacon. Mix well with hands. Shape into 6 patties. Wrap a bacon strip around each. Place on a baking sheet and cover loosely with plastic wrap. Place in freezer just until patties are frozen. Place the patties in a gallon freezer bag, label and freeze. 2. To serve: Thaw. Secure bacon with a toothpick. Place on an ungreased shallow baking dish and bake 450 degrees for 20 minutes or to desired doneness
