~ ~ ~ I have a strong belief in what Im doing with music and words. ~ ~ ~ Fortunately, many of my friends do as well. I think they may not realize what a difference that makes. So that they and you might, Im repeating an exchange from early this morning with longtime precious friend Beulah Walker, for it may let you better understand the motivating and sustaining effect of a supportive word at the right time (not just to me, but to every friend you have) for the difference it can make. Beulah Walker: Christmas is my favorite time of year also. The words to this song fit perfect, telling the story of his birth and what it means. He came as a Savior for you and for me, Most special, at Christmas, his love and his care. We enjoy it with family, and the loved ones we share. From beginning to end it tells the wonderful story. I found myself smiling as I read. How blessed you must feel as these words flow thru your heart, mind, and out your fingers to bless others. Hope to hold my book soon. God bless you as you write. Robert Larry Gatton: Dear, precious friend --- you sure know how to twang my heart strings and get good music out of them. Dont even start to think your thoughtful, caring words make no difference, for their effect is lasting, and sometimes nearly immediate. You manage to inspire me and motivate me in ways that hopefully will be making a difference a long time after weve left this place of joy/difficulty, love/confusion, peace/frustration, hope/despair --- this world with so much of goodness and worthiness in it, yet a creeping, encroaching evil that shows us we are apparently seeing the End Times beginning in our own lives, when we grew up thinking it was something way off in the future which would be happening to people then. My prayers for Gods continued power and presence in the lives of our children and descendants who must see, hear and experience terrible things we cannot even imagine --- because we have been, except for the blest remnant, (praise His Holy Name for that) the generation that has so fatally turned away from Him and what is holy and sustaining, and everlasting. ~ ~ ~ I love you so much, and look forward to the endless times when we can freely communicate without the separations which are a part of existing here, and from which we will be freed in our heavenly homes. As to the words (and often the music,) I frequently am thinking, Thank you, when the words are coming out (from wherever they do come from, for I realize part of the time they are coming too easily to be coming just from me, but are coming (joyful thought and experience!) THRU me. And sometimes, like this very moment, my eyes fill with tears which start streaming down my face. (I have that wonderful feeling like we all used to share at Otter Creek when the Holy Spirit joined in the service with power and joy swept over the congregation) --- what wonderful memories we share, a large part of the lasting bonds which will hold us together thru eternity. Christines still sleeping or I could start shouting Glory, glory or whatever pours out of a heart thats overflowing. Thank you, wonderful friend, for being a meaningful part of my life!
