... I just got home, last night, after spending over a month, up in Massachusetts, helping my 91 year old father recover from having his left hip replaced. His recovery was phenomenal! He was walking without his walker or cane less than two weeks after surgery! I stayed up there until he had his one month visit, back with the surgeon. The doctor gave him free reign to do whatever he needs to do, within reason. I left on Friday, spent the weekend with my son and his family near Baltimore, and then came home. Today, I got the news that Dad fell, getting out of a chair, and has damaged (most likely broken) his right hip (at least it isnt the left hip) and is now in the hospital. They are planning on operating on him, tomorrow. It looks like I will be heading back up there, to help him out, again. This could be longer than a month, this time. Well, at least I am well versed in his way of doing things!
