I remember the 37 mentioned in a book from Louis Charpentier # Die Geheimnisse der Kathedrale von Chartres. Gaia-Verlag, Köln 1972, ISBN where it is kind of a unit for the measures of this church. 37 x 3 = 111, so as i remember 111 is the height as it is 333 long and 444 long, just as an example from my memory. Interesting how he explains how they managed to build up so many churches with little personal in a short time. Two persons were responsible (as I rmember), one gave the motto, the saint for this church, the other translted that into numbers...etc.
