~I remember walking into my Moms hospital room at 0500 to give her smooches and love before I left for the airport. She had been in ICU for two weeks. The doctors had moved her into a private room from the ICU because he believed her health was improving. My Mom said come here baby. I said Mom, its me Tiny. I thought she thought I was my sister Misty. She said I know, just lay beside me. I crawled in beside her. She cried and I said Mama, dont you cry, the doctor said you are going to be okay. But she cried and held me tight saying this is going to be the last time I see you. I said no it isnt. I love you Mom, I have to go. Thats the last time I talked to my Mom. I came back to Hawaii and my aunt called me and said, Tiny you need to hurry and come back. I was only back for three days. I left as soon as I could, they held the phone to my Moms ear. I told her to hang on, please, I was on my way!! When I landed in LAX, my mom was gone. I got to Sioux Falls, rented a car and drove to Valentine,NE where she was. I found her at the funeral home and I picked her up and I cried and ranted. My Mama, my everything... She was gone. I picked clothes for her from local shops and I washed her hair. I dressed her and did her make up and nails. Thats what I did for my beloved Grandmother Minerva Jane Mousseaux when she passed. This song happened to play on the radio when we were on our way to bury my beautiful best friend, my Mama.
