“I support Sea Shepherd because it’s one of those organizations that take “action” and are ready to fight in the real world. Information is everything today, it’s the only true weapon. If certain things keep happening, it’s only because of ignorance”. With these words Rusty, leader of alt-prog metal band Klogr introduces the band’s new video “Zero Tolerance” which can be viewed below: The video clip (directed by Davide Cilloni of Eklipse Design) features images from a Sea Shepherd documentary. These images are meant to inform the public opinion on what takes place – legally and on a constant basis – in a bay in the Japanese town of Taiji. Starting on September 1st and usually continuing through March of the next year, fishermen herd whole families of small cetaceans into a shallow bays and mercilessly stab and drown them to death. This annual slaughter of dolphins was virtually unknown until 2003 when Sea Shepherd globally released covertly-obtained film and photographs of the now infamous bloody “Cove” in Taiji. Starting in 2010 and continuing to this day, Sea Shepherd has a ongoing presence of volunteers standing watch on site at the Cove. They are The Cove Guardians. Klogr are openly against the philosophy of exploitation and captivity of helpless beings and they wish to contribute, also through their music, to spread a message of awareness and self-responsibility. Together with Klogr there are many artists supporting the activities of Sea Shepherd: Aerosmith,Red Hot Chilli Pepper, Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins, Moby, Shannen Doherty – to name some of the most famous ones – are supporting the cause openly with the aid of videoclips, meet&greet, fund raising and informing their respective fans through Facebook and Twitter. The track Zero Tolerance, second single from Klogr‘s new album “Black Snow” is available on iTunes and its first 500 downloads (the collection is still going on), will be entirely given to Sea Shepherd.
