I was talking to a friend of mine about this very same topic the other night. I do believe the best way to have proceeded with this edict was to fight it all the way. While the strategy of the Tea Party doesnt seem to have worked on the surface, its impact is having many positive effects among the citizens of our country. Real Conservatives have citizens talking about the situation of our economy, our security and our rights. More and more people I come into contact with are learning about economics, history, and our constitution along with there state constitutions. So while this whole effort may have seemed like a futile effort, citizens are finally waking up and asking questions. Citizens are looking at this law and the way congress and the executive branch along with the lobbyists do business. The citizens are also educating and informing themselves more and more on these topics. So while pundits and the media look to sell air time on the perceived failure of the republican party, I am experiencing a completely different effect with people I come into contact with. All over the nation groups of people are starting to become more involved in there communities and local governments. Another product of the shutdown and the obamacare debate also gave us a glimpse at a centralized government punishing the citizens and abusing powers government does not have under our current constitution. All these things, though unfortunate, have had a positive impact for those of us who believe in a capitalist, constitutional republic. It is of the utmost importance for a society to understand the value and have the experience of hard work. History provides clear evidence of this. Relying on some one else to come to your aid seldom ever works for the benefit of the individual or group. The country is in immense danger that the nominal citizen cant even begin to understand and a line in the sand must be drawn if the American society and our American way of life is to endure. If we fail at protecting our nation and seeing it prosper, better to fail while fighting than sitting back trying to manage the decay, hoping a savior will present itself and save us.
