"I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me. - TopicsExpress

"I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, will come,” says the Lord Almighty. - Malachi 3:1 This is a prophesy of the fulfillment of the covenant God made with the children of Israel - first, a messenger will prepare the way for a second messenger, that being an angel (messenger) of the covenant covered under the Mosaic Law. Deuteronomy 4:23 reads, "Be careful not to forget the covenant of the Lord your God that he made with you; do not make for yourselves an idol in the form of anything the Lord your God has forbidden." Meditation: this is clear that Malachi is predicting the coming of John the Baptist as the preparer and Jesus as the Messenger of the covenant. At first glance, this appears to be a prediction of the first coming of Jesus Christ - however, when looking at the entire chapter, we find that this is a coming JUDGMENT...and we all know that Jesus stated in John 12:47b, "For I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world." It is the second coming when Jesus becomes the divine judge. John 5:22 reads, "Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son..." Friends, listen to His prophetic word and prepare yourself for the final judgment. Praise the Lord.
