I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand.” (Exodus 17: 9)That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.In our Focal Scripture, Moses went up to the hill with the rod of God. In Old Testament times, a rod was a symbol of authority. So, Moses stepped out with a symbol of authority. He went up with His authority in God; he went up with authority and confidence like one whose victory was guaranteed; he went up with authority, and there was victory for his compatriots.Friend, God says, STEP OUT WITH AUTHORITY. Step out like one who is confident of his place in God, and aware of his rights in Christ. Step out like one whose authority in Christ can defeat and annul every threat of the enemy. Use your authority in Christ to defeat the enemy. Use the authority in God’s word to fight and win every battle that comes your way. Draw strength from God’s word and pull down the devices of the enemy.If Christ Jesus lives in you, then you are the head and not the tail; you are seated with Christ, far above principalities and power; you are God’s masterpiece, created and recreated in Christ Jesus unto good works; no weapon fashioned against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you shall be condemned; your commonwealth is in heaven.Don’t let the enemy plant fear in you; don’t allow circumstances to diminish your confidence in the authority you have in Christ Jesus; don’t let your moments of difficulty make you lose sight of who you are and who God has made you. Approach your battles and challenges like one who is not stranded but confident of victory.Live in the consciousness of the authority you have in Christ Jesus.
