I’ll tell my friends to a certain extent but, even then, I don’t want to tell them because I don’t want it to affect their view of me” – MS survey respondent The workplace participation rate for people living with a disability is almost three times lower than the rest of the population. That’s despite research proving workers who live with a disability take fewer sick days, are less likely to resign and have no differences in productivity, performance and cost. There are still negative perceptions of employing someone with disability. MS Australia appreciates disclosing an MS diagnosis to an employer is a big decision to make but for those who have, we want to hear your experiences and especially if you have positive stories of your employer supporting you.
