#IGH2014 Ibiza Goes Hard is in its third year now and this year’s pre-sales already show the event is more successful than ever ! We caught up with Hardcores main man....PARTYRAISER Q - Have you ever been to Ibiza before if so what did you get up to, and if not why not? Yes i did!! J And it was off the damn chain!!!! Last year, in the summer of 2013 was my first experience with this badass island (and at Ibiza Goes Hard 2013) I spun at the incredible boat party and afterwards i did a set at the V club. We had our hotel in San Antonio, since day one i felt in love with Ibiza and i like to thank Al Twisted, Mick and all the other crew for that amazing trip! Q - As a Headliner this is probably your first time playing your preferred music in Ibiza , did you ever think this would happen and also are you looking forward to it? Like i said before, I already performed in IbizaJ And I’m very happy for this second time! To answer the question, no i didn’t think this would happen BUT Ibiza was ready for some louder and faster beats. And it’s great that a UK crew opened doors at this party island. Q- What would you say to the people who said that Hardcore & Hardstyle is not welcome in Ibiza, and it would never work? Not welcome? Isn’t that a kind of facist? I say nothing to those kind of people, i rather put my time into more open minded people. Besides that, it’s almost sold out isn’t it? Nuff Said! Q- What other DJs on the Ibiza Goes Hard 2014 lineups are you looking forward to seeing ? Well i know them all very well, but of course i like to drink a Jack/Coke during an awesome set by my amigo F. Noize. Q- Who are your musical influences and why?? Elvis Presley!!!! By far the biggest ever! I love him, and it’s still sad he passed away so young. Why? Because he had everything an artist need to have. PERIOD! Q - Do you have any upcoming important collaboration we should know about in the pipeline? Yes, but to be honest this is top secret!!! Sorry folks ;) To be continued… Q - There has been many Djs that have really broken onto the Hard scene in the last year, are there any that have particularly caught your eye. ? Yeah man, a lot! Most of these guys producing for my label “Partyraiser records”. The scene always needs progression. So i’m very happy with a lot of new producers. I do my very best to give them a chance, and guys like Andy The Core, F. Noize, Dave Dope, The Unfamous, etc etc are hotter than hell at this moment. That is a crazy awesome development. Q - There has been a big debate recently about the switch from CD to USB and the apparent ability to sync on the new pioneer hardware, what are your thoughts on this? The feeling of a DJ comes from inside. The heart, the brain and the moves. Equipment revolution is cool though, i mean it’s fresh and you can extend your dj sets. But i’m also from the old school days and i started dj-ing with turntables and vinyl. I’m sure if we go back in that time, 75% of the dj’s nowerdays will run away from the dj booth. I don’t care about a ‘sync’ button!! Dj-ing is so much more than beat matching.. Besides that it’s a cool tool, you can do so much more with it ;) But I also agree that I watch my movies with blue ray and not a video recorder anymore. What i mean, let’s go with the flow… I’m happy with SD and playing on the Pioneer decks. It is all so much quicker and the quality is by far way better. Q - In the last 12 months there seems to have been a crossover with Raw Hardstyle with big kicks and mainstream Hardcore tracks that sound very Hardstlye influenced. What do you think this means for the scene as a whole? The only thing i like to say about that, Hardcore = Gabber… Keep it hardcore!!!! Q - This year we have gone even harder on the line-up, are you going to tone your set down because we are in sunny Ibiza or is it business as usual with all guns blazing? Hahahaha is the pope catholic? See y ‘all in Ibiza folks… I say it often.
