#ILoveLucy A day late but a good one nonetheless. Yesterday would have been #LucilleBall s 103rd birthday. The original Queen of Comedy was my childhood idol. Every night after finishing my homework, I would turn on the Nickelodeon channel to catch an I Love Lucy episode. She was very funny. Ahead of her time, Lucy was actually a master behind the filming scenes, including becoming the first ever woman to run a major television studio, Desilu, which produced many hit shows like Mission: Impossible and Star Trek. Did you know that? At the time, the famous redhead’s looks (who was actually a natural blonde) were deemed “not as charming” in comparison to the other Golden starlets like Katherine Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, Rita Hayworth, Lauren Bacall, and Susan Hayward. Yet she managed to push her way to the top by charming the audience with slapstick comedy and versatile vaudeville acts. She wasn’t afraid to get her hands dirty! But she was also quite the savvy, business-minded woman. She is Extremely Weak Earth follows Intelligence = Metal. Favorable Elements are: Metal, Water, and Wood. She is Extremely Weak because she has no Resources element, the Goat 未 month is exhausted by so much Metal, and it half combines with Pig 亥 to make Wood. And most of her successes were achieved when Fire was absent. Therefore, her chart is “Follow the Leader” kind. Her Four Pillars has 2 Academic Stars (Monkey 申) and a lot of Intelligence Element – making her quite clever, innovative, and the type we call “killing boss” or “killing husband” kind. When she was young she was in the luck of Metal, proving she had to start working at a very early age to support her family. Although she had made many films in her 20s during Earth luck, none made her a commercial success because Earth is unfavorable. Her big break finally came at the age of 40 in Metal Water Luck, both her favorable elements (Intelligence and Money) and also her 10-year Peach Blossom luck, the same year I Love Lucy debuted on TV in 1951. The actress died on April 26, 1989 due to an aortic rupture on a day of so much Earth. Also, her death was in the early morning hours around Rabbit 卯 time, which also formed a string of Wood (Pig 亥 + Rabbit 卯 + Goat 未) with her Year, Month, and Luck (at 70). The string of Wood, Dragon 辰 Earth Penalty, too much Earth, and Luck of Wood were all present at the time of her death. Here are some of my all-time favorite Lucille Ball quotes: “Love yourself first and everything else falls into line.” “I’m not funny. What I am is brave.” “I think knowing what you cannot do is more important than knowing what you can.” “It’s a helluva start, being able to recognize what makes you happy.” FengShuibyJen
