AAPSU general secretary Biru Nasi urged the policy-planners to “understand the importance of such a human-centric discipline,” and stressed on popularizing anthropology among the state’s tribal people. Earlier, AAF chairman Ratna Tayeng said the AAF has long been demanding the establishment of an anthropology department in all government colleges in the state. He emphasized the need to create posts for anthropology students in government departments like art & culture, research, museum, social welfare, health, tourism, handloom & handicrafts and industries.
