“ISANG LINGGONG PAGIBIG” back to back with medley: “The Twelfth of Never” & “A THOUSAND YEARS” Nganong kilig to the bones man ta basta lovelife na? Booming ba imong lovelife karon? Ha3x, romantic man gud tag mga bukog, di ba? Naa pa gani tay gitawag nga “whirlwind romance”. That’s why Imelda Papin is so expressive in her song, “Isang Linggong Pagibig.” Familiar with this ? “O kay bilis ng iyong pagdating; pag-alis moy sadyang kay bilis din.” Till now, may appeal pa rin ang song na ito coz it depicts the reality about romantic relationships. Makurat jud ta kay sukad pa man gud sa una nga ang usa ka lover mo-promise ug undying love. Of corz, ulahi ra kaau ang sikat nga song, “A Thousand Years”. Ever heard this song of the yesteryears by Johnny Mathis? Title: “The Twelfth of Never”. Tiaw mo nậ, ang NEVER imong i-raise to the power of 12, like this: never12. A line of the said song goes: “I’ll love you till the poets run out of rhyme, until the twelfth of never and that’s A LONG, LONG TIME.” Dugay jud tuod kaau! Ug karon nga henerasyon, laban ka niining linya sa “A Thousand Years”? … “I have loved you for a thousand years, I’ll love you for A THOUSAND MORE.” Meaning, 1000 + 1000=2000 yrs.? Both songs signify eternity, right? True to life? Yes and no. Yes, coz in fairness, daghan pa gihapon ang committed sa ilang marriage vows till death separated them. And literally, “no” kay kinsa man tawon ang mabuhi ug 2000 yrs.? Even the oldest man, Methuselah, only lived up to 969 yrs. (See Genesis 5:27.) In reality, all relationships here on earth are short-lived & imperfect – IN COMPARISON TO ETERNITY. Aber, kinsa man sa ato makahatag ug perfect love sa atong minahal? There are cases gani nga magpa-process pa ta ni God coz we hate even our own selves ! Dearest, wa jud lagi makatalbog sa love ni Jesus. Before you were formed in your mother’s womb, mahal na ka Niya and it’s 4ever & ever and…that’s not merely a long, long time but time that CANNOT BE MEASURED. Look, iba kasi ang measurement ni Jesus sa time: “Do not forget this one thing, dear friends: with the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.” 2 Peter 3:8. Are you facing struggles and fears in your lovelife, most especially in your marriage? Don’t get so wrapped-up in your personal life and don’t be so focused on your lovely faces. Becoz if you do, madiskurahe ka, hahaha ! Tiaw mo bay puerte ninyong sinaaray unya di gihapon mo katunong? Serious now…diha tutok sa perfect love ni Jesus nimo coz mao niy labaw pa sa 12th of never ug sa 1,000 + 1,000 more years! “So we know and RELY on the love God has for us…There is NO FEAR in love. But PERFECT LOVE DRIVES OUT FEAR.” I John 4:16 & 18. Dearest, if you have Jesus in your life, CARRY LANG ANG LAHAT coz His perfect love ALONE gives you peace and true freedom. That’s His promise. Totoo. And that’s for A LONG, LONG TIME & BEYOND MEASURE. Say this prayer: Lord Jesus, I just want to say, ‘Thank You for loving me unconditionally, without time element.’ Amen ! (P.S.
