-Ian D. Smith killed thousands at Chimoio, Thembwe and many other hot spots like Chifombo in Zambia and Morogoro in Tanzania. -Robert G. Mugabe killed several thousands of blacks in Matebeleland and Midlands regions during the Gukurahundi era. -Smith incarcerated, tortured and killed many nationalists in his jails for resisting his regime. -Mugabe jailed many opposition activists without trial, tortured them, killed and or make quite a good number of them disappear without trace. -Smith poisoned guerrillas donated clothes and food, beat up villagers for their support and allegiance to the armed struggle. -Mugabe stage managed road accidents to all who resist him, sent in the militia trained Border Gezi youths to beat up their parents to submission for their support of the opposition political parties. -Smith declared the state of emergency, surpressed the majority black people with his LOMA act and also as if its not enough pass on curfew laws in certain zones in Rhodesia and further deny free for all majority vote to the masses. -Mugabe continued with the notorious Smiths state of emergency status quo, charged the people with his restrictive POSA and AIPPA acts and also unleashed his much feared 5th brigade goons and Zanu Pf thugs to the voters denying them their right to vote, telling them that they should present themselves all polling stations as assisted voters and vote Zanu Pf into power. -Smith continue grabbing all prime land ie Rhoseday giving it to minority whites. -Mugabe copied his predecessors views and policies and also continued from were he left, grabbed all the prime spot lands in the country and distributed it only to card carrying Zanu Pf sympathysers and a few pot-bellied elite Zanu Pf blacks. -Smith did not allow blacks to own big companies and head in big firms. -Mugabe grabbed major companies and abused parastatals like CSC, ZISCO, NRZ, ZOC, GMB, CMB and many others to their bankrupcy and eventually closure. As if we have not suffered enough he put in place incompetent war-vetrans and relatives (like Nziramasanga to ZISCO) to head government departments with their ill aquire degrees and fake certificates. -I dont see much difference between the two, Ian Douglas Smith and Robert Gabriel Mugabe.
