“Imagine” Lennon will be the anthem of the International Day of Peace On Sunday 21 September, more than 50 countries will sing the iconic John Lennon song “Imagine” to commemorate the International Day of Peace, under the Peace Mister inicitiva supported by the United Nations (UN). Both communities suffer armed conflicts, such as in rural communities and in nations like Egypt, Turkey, Mexico and the United States, Imagine will be taken as a global anthem for peace. The subject rights were granted by the famous Yoko Ono, widow of exbeatle, just for that day at the UN. In 1981, the General Assembly of the United Nations established the International Day of Peace will be held annually on the third Tuesday of September, and was celebrated for the first time on 21 1982 “The United Nations is a very strong institution who believes in freedom of expression, justice for people and offers hope that one day there is world peace, “said Yoko to the UN. John Lennon released the song in 1971 to tell the world that you can achieve world peace and forget all the wars. For his part, Secretary General of the UN, Ban Ki-moon sent a message by the commemoration of peace and called for a global ceasefire. “We urge the combatants to lay down their arms for all to breathe the air of peace.Armed conflict unspeakable pain to families, communities and entire countries. Many people today are suffering the brutality of warmongers and terrorists. It let’s join them in solidarity, “he said. lainfo.es/en/2014/09/19/imagine-lennon-will-be-the-anthem-of-the-international-day-of-peace/ Note: Sadly, and ironically, the song Imagine was produced by Phil Spektor, a man convicted and spending time in jail for murder! Is this giving more money to a convicted killer? I hope not. Yoko Ono, who owns the rights to Imagine has lent the song to Human Rights Activists like Amnesty International UK, for the promoting sensitivity to human life on planet earth. We must respect the rights of other, and learn to share all the world, and live in peace, if we are to make the world a better place. John Lennon was a big liberal in the seventies, and envisioned the world where everyone would be treated equally and fairly, and no one would be killed for Politics, religion, war, and hatred. We need peace and love and Johns message of sharing all the world more than ever now. Peace, Love, and Best Wishes, Ruben and Mike.
