Immigration New Zealand (INZ) has launched two new guides containing tips and information for migrant workers and their employers in the Aged Care sector. INZ’s National Manager, Settlement, Judi Altinkaya, says that migrant workers in the Aged Care sector have been identified as a priority group for targeted settlement information to help prepare them well for New Zealand aged care workplaces, which can be quite different from those in their own countries. These guides are the latest in a series of resources which help sectors’ employers understand the kind of challenges that migrants face when moving to New Zealand and help migrant workers settle more quickly into work and understand some of the differences they may experience here compared to home, Ms Altinkaya says. INZ has already produced guides for employers and migrants in the Construction and Dairy industries.
