In August 22, in Ha Long City, Vietnam Environment Administration organized the symposium on “Rural Environment” to discuss the current status and management of the rural environment in the localities; exchange experiences in the management and control of environmental pollution in rural areas. In 2014, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment assigned Vietnam Environment Administration to elaborate the State Environmental Report with the theme of rural environment. The fact shows that this is one of the emerging environmental issues in our country in recent years. These includes environmental pollution of water, air, soil, solid waste pollution due to emissions from livestock, cultivation, small-scale production, craft villages and from human activities. The management of the rural environment has not been focused and there is lack of the focal point for management. In recent years, the issue of “rural environment” has been hardly considered and evaluated fully and comprehensively. In addition, the information and data on this issue has not been systematically synthesized.
