In October 2012 a small group of independent professional luthiers came together to change the course of history regarding the contemporary guitar in Europe. A new alliance - The European Guitar Builders Association - was founded by Frank Deimel (Germany), Andreas Neubauer (Austria), Frédéric Pons (France), Juha Ruokangas (Finland), Michael Spalt (Austria) and Ulrich Teuffel (Germany) to showcase the talent, the rich variety of traditions and great innovations present in Europe today in the form of a unique new invitational exhibition - The Holy Grail Guitar Show 2014. Planned for November 2014 in Berlin, this show is organized and promoted by the EGB, the Association of European Luthiers. The EGB is an organization of European luthiers founded in 2012 to promote the art and craft of lutherie in Europe, and consists of luthiers from various European countries.
