. In present weather conditions, farmers are advised to monitor their vegetable against attack of aphid. To control an increasing pest population spraying of Imidacloprid @ 0.25 to 0.5 ml per litre of water after harvesting of mature fruits is advised when sky is clear. In vegetable crops a waiting period of one week should be followed after spraying. Constant monitoring of crop for seed is advised as damage by this insect is very high. 2. In present weather condition constant monitoring of the wheat crop against rust disease is advised. If symptoms of black, brown or yellow rust appear, spraying of crops with Dithane M 45 @ 2.5 grams per litre of water should be done when sky is clear. For yellow rust temperature should be between 10-20°C. Above 25°C the dispersion of yellow rust does not occurs. For brown rust the temperature should be between 15-25°C with humid weather conditions. For black rust temperature should be above 20°C with less humidity. 3. Farmers are advised to procure quality seeds for green gram and black gram from certified source for sowing during first week of March. Variety: - Green gram – Pusa Visal, Pusa Vaisakhi, PDM-11, SML-32 and Black gram – Pant Urd 19, Pant Urd 30, Pant Urd 35, PDU-1. Seed treatment with crop specific Rhizobium culture as well as phosphorus solubilishing bacteria is also advised. 4. Direct sowing of cucurbitaceous crop, lady’s finger, French bean, cluster bean, summer radish is advised as present temperature is suitable for germination of seeds. Procurement of seeds should be done from a certified source. 5. In present weather conditions, transplanting of young seedlings of tomato, chilli and cole crop may be done in this week. 6. Constant monitoring of timely sown onion crop against attack of thrips and infection of purple blotch should be done. If symptoms of thrips were found, than spraying of Carbaryl @ 2 grams per litre of water is advised. If symptoms of purple blotch were found than, spraying of Dithane M- 45 @ 3 grams per litre of water are advised when sky is clear. 7. For monitoring of the pod borer in the gram crop, installation of Pheromone trap @ 3-4 traps per acre is advised. “T” shaped bird perches in and around crop field to be installed for controlling insect population. 8. Installation of bird perches in tomato crop is advised for controlling fruit borer. Hand picking of damaged fruit and burying are advised. Installation of pheromone trap @ 2-3 traps per acre is advised for monitoring the tomato fruit borer. 9. In brinjal crop, to control shoot and fruit borer, collection of infested fruits and shoots and burying these are advised. If pest population is high, spraying of Spinosad 48 EC @ 1 ml. /4 litres of water is advised when sky is clear. 10. Keeping weather in view, constant monitoring of inflorescence rotting disease in marigold crop is needed. If symptoms is found spraying of Bavistin @ 1 gram/litre or indofil-M 45 @ 2 ml/litre water is advised when sky is clear. 11. Farmers are advised for transplanting of marigold seedling in fields and sowing of seeds in nursery for summer crop. 12. Temperature is suitable for sowing of fodder maize (Variety – African Tall) and lobia. Sowing of HM-4, hybrid cultivar of baby corn may also be done. 13. In mango and citrus, irrigation should be avoided during flowering for good fruit setting. Constant monitoring of mango mealy bug and leaf hopper are advised.
